This program is sponsored by Bay Area water and wastewater agencies to attract new people to the industry and to encourage current operators to continue their education and training to fulfill an urgent need to replace a retiring workforce.

The Certificate of Achievement program is an accredited program provided by Solano Community College. Instructors are employed by the sponsoring agencies as general managers, directors of operations, superintendents, and engineers who bring the classroom setting closer to the actual day-to-day operations of the plants.

Students are eligible for a variety of state exams after taking Introduction to Wastewater or Water Treatment classes earning 4 college credit hours. CEUs from the Office of Water Program in Sacramento, are not transferable to this program.
